Here is a list of 5 things I have never worn -

1. Lipstick

 OK I know you probably don’t believe me. I have worn lipgloss and chapstick of course and I have TRIED lipstick on, but I always hate how it looks on me and immediately wipe it all off. It does not help that my lips are always terribly chapped and peeling. Anyone have suggestions for how to cure this??

2. Romper

I wore my fare share of overalls as a kid…OK I still wore a pair my freshman year of college and my roommates still make fun of me for it!  But I haven’t worn the more fashionable rompers that seem to be all the rage these days. I haven’t found one that fits right and I’m really concerned about the concept of having to take off all your clothing to use the restroom.

3. Fedora

These also seem to be ‘in’ these days, I have worn stocking caps and ballcaps, but never a hat for stylish purposes. I think they look really cute on other girls though so this is one I may have to try!

4. Watch

I can never ever remember wearing a watch and have no desire to. I rarely wear anything on my wrist and would rather just check my phone for the time.

5. Spray Tan

I have used self-tanning products at home, but have never gotten a professional spray tan. What do you think, are they worth the money? I would not want to turn out as orange as this lady!

I’ve been hearing how AMAZING Moroccan Oil is for both hair and skin. I used some today and it did make my hair really soft, but next time I will use less because it tended to feel slightly greasy until completely dry. You just put a little bit in before blowdrying and it is supposed to decrease frizz and add shine. I’ll give a better review once I have used it a little more.

2. Hemp Bronzing Moisturizer. $2.49 for 2oz. sample size.

Have not tried this product yet, but it does smell and feel nice. I know that some people love the Hemp lotion from The Body Shop and figured if it gave any kind of color at all it would be worth it! I’m really trying to stay away from the tanning beds at all costs! I’ll let you guys know how this turns out!

If you have a Sally Beauty Supply near you, I would recommend it for sure, the prices are awesome!

And the after, or what my hair looks like now:

See? Much blonder! All from Sun In! But now I’m starting to wonder just how much damage this peroxide is doing to my hair….

YES SUN IN! Not sure why they haven’t updated their packaging since 1992, but it works like a dream. This is the onlything I use to lighten my (naturally light brown) hair. I do not get salon highlights, I do not use box dyes. It is the cheapest way I have found to maintain being a blonde. It works with the sun of course, but also works with the heat of your blow-dryer in the winter. I would not recommend for darker hair, but if you are dirty blonde – light brown and would like some subtle highlights, give it a try. You might not see immediate results, but gradually it should lighten up. I will try to find some before and after pics of my hair color to show you the difference.

This is Dove Heat Defense Spray. I bought it because it is cheap and I figured I should use some type of heat protectant if I am going to be blowdrying and straightening my hair. This does the trick!

And lastly, I spray Redken Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam just at the roots. This really gives my super fine and flat hair volume which is really really hard to do!

I think there are times and reasons to splurge and times when spending money is just a waste!

Case in point – I bought this Physician’s Formula Bronzer (you can get it any drugstore, but it still seems fancy to me) for around $14 and I was using it everyday.

Until one day, it hit me…this stuff BARELY shows up on my skin!

I don’t want to talk bad about this brand because I do like some of their other products, but for some reason with this particular bronzer, the product just did not transfer to my skin. So I went back to the drugstore and picked up a Wet N Wild bronzer for $2.99 and what do you know? I like it MUCH better.

Do you have a favorite cheapy product that works better than anything else?

I found this old polyvore set I made back in February. My hair has been in the ‘in between’ phase for what seems like forever! I keep getting it trimmed in order to maintain the ends, but then it takes forever to grow back. After seeing this, I’m commited to growing it out. Funny enough, this is pretty similar to Erin Kaplan’s (better known as Olivia’s bitchy co-worker on MTV’s The City) style which I have also been coveting recently.

This is my basic makeup routine I do each morning before work. For going out, I just do a darker eye. All of my makeup comes from Target or Walgreens.  For the most part I am happy with my collection, but my main complaint is that by the end of the work day, it all wears off.  Perhaps if I invest in some quality makeup, I will see better results. I’ll be posting my makeup wishlist tomorrow!
